Crappi Coffee, Crappi-er Food

View Transcript Lissa: Dude, you look like shit.
Alex: *Do* I look like shit?
What a coincidence, on all other levels, I *am* shit.

Alex: Turns out, about a month ago, corporate decided that they wanted to serve *more food* here.
Guess who *didn't* get the email.
Lissa: Kirsten?
Alex: *Kirsten*.
It's like our franchise doesn't even *exist*.

Alex: I mean, it was bad enough when corporate was like, "Hey, let's serve muffins," and we only found out about it when they tweeted it three days beforehand.
But *this* just feels like a swift, painful kick to the nuts (not that I know or ever *want* to know what that feels like) to all of us, which *sucks* since we're actually the highest earning franchise in the state.
Don't ask me how I know that.

Alex: So we got an unexpected shipment of new food shit, and we've spent the past *seven hours* retrofitting everything in here to fit our new menu.

Alex: And it's just *been* like this for as long as I've worked here. We're *always* the last to know.
I can't work like this.

Alex: Maybe, deep down, *that's* why I'm getting a business degree.
To start my own fucking coffee shop.
Lissa: I mean, if not you, who else?
Alex: Not Kirsten.

Author Notes

4/6/2022, 10:34 AM Fun fact: in their original release, up until now, every instance of the word "fuck" was censored (for the purposes of this archive, I have subsequently uncensored them). This was the first strip to feature a truly uncensored "fuck".

Look, after the seven hours of shit they went through, Alex kinda deserves it.

4/6/2022, 11:10 AM I get this strip on a personal level! I work in food service and half the time the customers are ordering things I don't even know exists yet. No communication sucks!

Sorry you had a bad day, Alex
4/6/2022, 11:17 AM Having never actually worked in food service myself (in fact I've only ever held one retail job), I'm glad I'm able to get these sorts of things right.
4/6/2022, 11:22 AM I really do hope at some point we could see Alex running their own coffee shop, or something similar. That would be awesome!
